That this House expresses concern over the effect on the general public of the European Court of Justice ruling on the EU Trademark Directive which has prevented supermarkets from selling designer goods at low prices by banning the import of these goods from outside the EU; welcomes the Parallel Traders Association campaign to amend the EU Trademark Directive; notes that a MORI poll conducted for the Parallel Traders Association showed that 83 per cent. of the general public supports supermarkets which have sold designer goods at low prices; looks forward to the forthcoming Internal Market Council meeting on 25th February in which Mario Monti will give a presentation on the European Union's study into trademark legislation; and calls upon the Government to support the campaign.
