That this House pays tribute to the Tibetan people and His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the non-violent pursuit of their right to self-determination; is aware that 25th April is the birthday of the child Panchan Lama; expresses serious concern for his wellbeing and that of his family; deplores the refusal of the Government of China to engage in discussions with the Dalai Lama; and calls on the United Kingdom Government and the European Union to actively support such discussions as a matter of urgency.
