Accessibility Of Connex South Centrals Trains
EDM number 777 in 1998-99, proposed by Anne Begg on 30/06/1999.
That this House condemns Connex South Central for continuing to run passenger trains between Gatwick and Victoria which mean that wheelchair-using passengers are forced to travel in the luggage van, which is not only an affront to all disabled people but must also give a very bad impression to international disabled travellers whose first experience of British attitudes is the journey from Gatwick Airport to London; and calls on Connex South Central to upgrade its rolling stock and bring this barbaric practice to an end before the arrival of the new millennium.
