Millennium Songs Of Praise

EDM number 234 in 1999-00, proposed by Bob Russell on 10/01/2000.

That this House congratulates all involved with the BBC Songs of Praise special live service from the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on Sunday 2nd January; notes that the attendance of 66,000 is a record for a service held in a covered auditorium anywhere in the world; recognises that since Songs of Praise was launched in October 1961 it has become a national institution watched by an audience of more than five million people; and wishes the programme continued success in augmenting the work of the churches in the spiritual life of the nation.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
