Advice Of Nice

EDM number 253 in 1999-00, proposed by Paul Flynn on 12/01/2000.

That this House welcomes the guidance of NICE that zanamivir (Relenza) should not be prescribed because it has little effect on flu symptons; deplores the crude opportunism of Glaxo Wellcome in exploiting the present flu season by attempting to pressurise the Government to reject the advice of NICE; and urges the Government to resist the covetous propaganda of the pharmaceutical lobby and to continue to make their decisions on the basis of impartial scientific evidence in the best interest of patients.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
