Nicosia Wall

EDM number 42 in 1999-00, proposed by Edward O'Hara on 17/11/1999.

That this House shares in the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall; notes however with regret that Nicosia approaches the millennium as the only city in Europe still divided; is encouraged by the proposed resumption of Cyprus proximity talks on 3rd December in New York; and looks forward as an outcome to the removal of the wall and barbed wire which currently disfigure and divide Nicosia and the rest of Cyprus.
