That this House welcomes the new reality of Morocco, described by the Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the honourable Member for Leicester East, in Westminster Hall on 4th April as having 'the best human rights record in Africa and the Middle East', as stated by Amnesty International; and congratulates the socialist government in Morocco and the new King Mohammed VI, who wishes to transform the monarchy along the lines of the Spanish crown, on their determined efforts to make Morocco a modern, plural, democratic and progressive united Arab country.
