Ritalin
EDM number 8 in 1999-00, proposed by Paul Flynn on 17/11/1999.
That this House is alarmed that two million American children use the drug Ritalin which has been prescribed for the so-called disorder of 'Attention Deficit Syndrome'; notes that attention deficit is a universal characteristic found in the young of all species; notes that Ritalin has been identified as addictive and a cause of robotic behaviour, exhaustion and depression; and calls on the Government to resist the propaganda by the drug maker Novartis to increase the use of Ritalin in the UK.
This motion has been signed by a total of 30 MPs.
