Institute Of Tourist Guiding

EDM number 1155 in 2001-02, proposed by Chris Smith on 18/04/2002.

That this House welcomes the establishment of the Institute of Tourist Guiding which was launched on 18th April; congratulates the members of the Association of Professional Tourist Guides and others in the industry who have worked hard to achieve this end in order to guarantee quality and consistency within their profession; and believes that this development can only serve to enhance the enjoyment of many visitors to the UK who last year, despite the 14 per cent. drop in spending caused by foot and mouth disease and the events of 11th September, contributed some ú10.95 billion through tourism to the UK economy.

This motion has been signed by a total of 61 MPs.
