Military Tension Between India And Pakistan

EDM number 1162 in 2001-02, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 19/04/2002.

That this House notes that the governments of India and Pakistan remain on high military alert and have done so since mid-December, a period of drawn out tension unprecedented in peacetime; notes also that all links between the two countries for the purposes of travel and communication have remained severed throughout; and urges Her Majesty's Government to take all available measures, including a review of arms sales to the region, to assist these two countries in stepping back from the brink of military confrontation.

This motion has been signed by a total of 34 MPs.
