Deaths Of Irish Citizens In British Prisons

EDM number 1197 in 2001-02, proposed by John McDonnell on 24/04/2002.

That this House notes with concern that another Irish citizen, Mr Patrick Maloney, has died whilst on remand in Brixton Prison; and calls upon the Government, in the light of a series of deaths of Irish citizens in British prisons, to launch an independent investigation into the circumstances of these deaths.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
