British Energy (No. 2)

EDM number 1738 in 2001-02, proposed by Mike Weir on 15/10/2002.

That this House is concerned at the loans given by Her Majesty's Government to British Energy; believes that the financial difficulties of the company shows, yet again, that nuclear power is uneconomic; believes that there is no future for nuclear power; and further believes that no more taxpayers money should be used to prop up nuclear power companies and that all existing nuclear power stations should be decommissioned at the end of their technological lives.

This motion has been signed by a total of 32 MPs.
