Degradable Plastic Bags

EDM number 1822 in 2001-02, proposed by James Clappison on 28/10/2002.

That this House recognises the environmental advantages of degradable plastics namely that they can be composted, they will degrade when exposed to a normal environment and they are environmentally friendly in their production; and calls upon the Government to recognise a distinction on environmental grounds between conventional plastics and degradable plastic bags, such as those produced by Symphony Plastics of Elstree.

This motion has been signed by a total of 27 MPs.
