That this House calls upon the Government to bring forward as a matter of urgency a co-ordinated, emergency programme of measures to assist communities affected by the crisis in the aviation industry; and believes that this programme should include: the provision of advice and assistance to employees facing redundancy on welfare benefits, pensions, retraining and alternative employment, support for the development of local economic regeneration initiatives, and continued assistance to aviation companies on insurance and enhanced security measures to encourage the restoration of confidence in air travel.
