Poppies And BBC World

EDM number 350 in 2001-02, proposed by Jeff Ennis on 05/11/2001.

That this House is gravely concerned at the ruling by the BBC World TV channel not to allow its presenters to wear poppies as a mark of respect for all the British forces killed around the world in different conflicts; recognises the poppy as the international symbol of remembrance which equally applied to all religions; and calls upon the BBC to reverse this inexplicable ruling.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
