Lifting Of Ban On Scottish Lamb Exports

That this House welcomes the decision of the European Union Standing Veterinary Committee to lift the export ban on Scottish lamb and venison in most of Scotland; notes that this measure will be a welcome relief to the hard hit farmers of Scotland; congratulates the Scottish Rural Development Minister, Ross Finnie MSP, on securing the prompt containment of foot and mouth disease in Scotland, enabling this decision; and looks forward to the lifting of the ban in the rest of Scotland.
