Richard Burns And The World Rally Championship

EDM number 482 in 2001-02, proposed by Richard Burden on 27/11/2001.

That this House congratulates Richard Burns on becoming the first English driver to win the World Rally championship, adding to the success in world rallying already achieved by Scotland's Colin McRae; notes that Richard Burns' Subaru is prepared and run by a British company and that many other leading manufacturers rely on British teams to run their World Rally cars; and recognises that Britain's motorsport industry not only is a world leader in both international rallying and motor racing but that it also makes major contributions to hi-tech industrial innovation and Britain's economy generally.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
