Promotion Of Peace In The Punjab

EDM number 670 in 2001-02, proposed by John McDonnell on 16/01/2002.

That this House urges the Government to support those efforts made by British Punjabis to create opportunities to bring all Punjabis together, irrespective of their religion, caste, or political affiliations, including the promotion of Punjabi culture and language in this country, in order to create a better understanding between Punjabis here and in the Punjab; and believes that this will help to create an environment of understanding and harmony, paving the way for stability, security and peace in South Asia.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
