Royal Ulster Constabulary Long Service Medal

EDM number 1021 in 2002-03, proposed by David Burnside on 07/04/2003.

That this House deplores that officers of the Police Service of Northern Ireland and its Reserve who started their service in the Royal Ulster Constabulary and its Reserve and have achieved their long service period since the operational name change of the Royal Ulster Constabulary to the Police Service of Northern Ireland in 2001 are not to be awarded the Royal Ulster Constabulary long service medal; and urges Her Majesty's Government to recognise the service, honour and bravery of those officers by ensuring that all those who joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary and its Reserve and reach their long service period are awarded the Royal Ulster Constabulary long service medal.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
