Civilians Casualties In Iraq

EDM number 1037 in 2002-03, proposed by Paul Marsden on 08/04/2003.

That this House congratulates British Armed Service personnel distributing aid to Iraqi civilians and attempting to maintain calm in an extremely difficult and perilous situation through patience and professionalism on peacekeeping duties; is concerned at the apparent contrast with the way some US armed service personnel are operating since the war on Iraq commenced; with 14 civilians killed and 30 injured in a bombing raid on a Baghdad shopping area, 12 civilians killed travelling in trucks across a bridge south of Nassiriya, 10 dead and 200 wounded civilians in one residential area in Baghdad and 60 civilians killed north of Baghdad travelling by bus, all apparently shot or bombed by US military forces; and urges the British Government to make the strongest representations to the US Government that actions must be increased to safeguard civilians in Iraq.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
