Initial Teacher Training

EDM number 1071 in 2002-03, proposed by Tony Colman on 14/04/2003.

That this House welcomes the introduction of Government incentives to encourage more students into initial teacher training; is concerned that the financial incentives offered to PGCE students are not available to undergraduate ITT students who have to pay tuition fees and do not receive equivalent training incentives; and therefore urges the Government to address the discrepancy in financial incentives between the various routes to achieving qualified teacher status.

This motion has been signed by a total of 27 MPs.
