Civilian Casualties In Iraq

EDM number 1256 in 2002-03, proposed by Paul Marsden on 20/05/2003.

That this House condemns the deaths of at least 4,065 Iraqi civilians killed in the war in Iraq, including 372 civilians killed by cluster bombs, as independently reported by www.iraqbodycount.net; notes the misleading claim by General Richard Myers, chairman of the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff on Friday 25th April that only one civilian has died from US and UK cluster bombs; expresses sympathy to all the families who lost loved ones in the years under Saddam Hussein and those who have suffered further losses from the war; and urges the Government to end the use of cluster bombs in military campaigns.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
