The Morris Tribunal

EDM number 1601 in 2002-03, proposed by Roy Beggs on 16/07/2003.

That this House calls upon the Government of the Irish Republic to ensure that properly funded legal aid for representation before the Morris Tribunal inquiry into certain activities by An Garda Siochana in the Donegal Division is available to the family relatives of Rosaland and Patricia McBrearty who are British citizens by birth; further calls upon the Government of the Irish Republic to ensure that the families and relatives of these British citizens living in the Irish Republic are adequately funded through legal aid to enable their lawyers to expose the extent of corruption, police conspiracy and harassment suffered by these families since 1996; and asks the Irish Government to extend the terms of reference of the Morris Tribunal inquiry to make possible an investigation of the role of Irish State agencies to which the McBrearty family have appealed for help from 1996.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
