THE COUNTRYSIDE ALLIANCE 'LIBERTY AND LIVELIHOOD MARCH' AND THE BRITISH NATIONAL PARTY
EDM number 64 in 2002-03, proposed by Martin Salter on 13/11/2002.
That this House welcomes the commitment in the Queen's Speech to allow Parliament to reach a conclusion on the question of a Bill to ban hunting with dogs, but notes that at the recent Liberty and Livelihood march in London the British National Party were allowed to attend and to distribute 46,000 copies of their newspaper, The Countrysider, without any challenge by the organisers or stewards from the Countryside Alliance; and calls upon the organisers of the march to explain their conduct and to issue a statement disassociating themselves from racist and fascist organisations such as the British National Party.
This motion has been signed by a total of 72 MPs.
