Pensions

EDM number 893 in 2002-03, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 13/03/2003.

That this House notes the number of shortfalls in pension funds and the lack of confidence in company and private pensions given the performance of the stock market and mismanagement of pensions funds by companies; recognises the Government's role in providing a basic state pension in order to provide a regular income; and calls on the Government to increase the basic state pension to ú100 per week in order that a decent minimum income will be provided regardless of private pensions funds.

This motion has been signed by a total of 38 MPs.
