Six Nations Championship 2003

EDM number 986 in 2002-03, proposed by Derek Wyatt on 31/03/2003.

That this House congratulates the English and Irish teams in the final game of the Six Nations Championship; notes that England has won their first Six Nations grand slam as well as retaining their Rugby World Cup Sevens title in Hong Kong; pays tribute to an emerging Italian side under their new coach John Kirwan; is concerned at BBC Sport's lust for ratings which has caused serious transportation issues for spectators at the Wales v England and England v Italy games because of their late kick-offs; recommends that next year same day matches should kick-off at 1pm and 3pm; and calls on the Six Nations fixtures for 2004 and subsequent years to be ceded.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
