BBC WORLDWIDE & CHILDREN'S FOOD LICENSING
EDM number 1063 in 2003-04, proposed by Rosemary McKenna on 27/04/2004.
That this House welcomes the new food licensing policy adopted by BBC Worldwide; notes the special attention given to reducing levels of salt, sugar and fat in foods; further welcomes the commitments to license new staple food products and to discontinue licensing of everyday treat products and joint promotions with fast food outlets; notes the serious consideration given to restricting the use of additives in children's food; applauds the commitment to clear, simple labelling and to offer a nutritionally balanced diet for young children; and calls on others to follow this positive example.
