Sea Bass Fishery And The European Commission

EDM number 1599 in 2003-04, proposed by Adrian Sanders on 07/09/2004.

That this House notes the European Commissions's rejection of the UK Government's evidence of cetacean by-catch in the sea bass fishery; and urges Her Majesty's Government to arrange for an emergency summit of cetacean conservation groups, fisheries experts and national fishery organisations to pull together the evidence the Commission requires in order to close the sea bass fishery this winter.
