Role Of Magistrates

That this House acknowledges the contribution made by magistrates to their local communities and congratulates and thanks people who come from all walks of life to give their time, experience, knowledge and skills to serve their communities as magistrates; and calls on the Government to continue the system of unpaid lay justices of the peace, serving their local communities.
