Air Quality

EDM number 507 in 2003-04, proposed by Caroline Spelman on 29/01/2004.

That this House notes the recent release of air pollution figures for 2003; further notes that pollution in urban and rural areas has more than doubled compared with 2002; further notes motorway congestion has increased by 250 per cent. in four years; further notes the intention of the Government to raise the duty on liquefied petroleum gas fuel as outlined in the pre-Budget report of 2003; and calls on the Government to take measures to reverse this deterioration in air quality through tackling emissions that harm the environment.

This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
