Butler Inquiry

EDM number 728 in 2003-04, proposed by Harry Cohen on 01/03/2004.

That this House notes that the Butler Inquiry into the Intelligence Services' pre-war claims about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction no longer has bi-party support, and that confidence in it must therefore inevitably be seriously eroded; and believes that as a consequence it should be abandoned in its present form and replaced by an inquiry, with the confidence of all the three main parties represented in the House with a wider remit and a more broadly-based membership, including at least one person who was not in favour of the war and sceptical of the reasons for it.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
