Bicentenary Of British And Foreign Bible Society

EDM number 746 in 2003-04, proposed by Brian Mawhinney on 02/03/2004.

That this House recognises and applauds the valuable contribution of the British and Foreign Bible Society to the political, social and cultural fabric of this nation over the last 200 years, particularly the translation, publication and distribution of the Holy Scriptures, both in the UK and across the world; and welcomes the Bible Society's commitment to making the Bible heard in contemporary Britain, and its willingness to continue William Wilberforce's struggle to 'make goodness fashionable'.

This motion has been signed by a total of 36 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
