TEACHERS' PENSION SCHEME

EDM number 1022 in 2004-05, proposed by Chris McCafferty on 05/04/2005.

That this House notes that the Government has brought forward proposals to alter the provisions of the Teachers' Pension Scheme; is concerned about the introduction of a normal pension age of 65 years and other changes to existing contracts; and calls on the Government not to proceed with these proposals, pending negotiations with representatives of teachers' associations, in order to reach majority agreement.
