Cotteridge Orchard

EDM number 544 in 2004-05, proposed by Lynne Jones on 18/01/2005.

That this House notes that the Friends of Cotteridge Park in the constituency of the honourable Member for Birmingham Selly Oak have now raised enough money to purchase an abandoned allotments site to secure this land for community use; notes in particular the generous donation of ú3,000 from the Midlands Co-operative Society and the hard work and generosity of the children and families of Cotteridge Junior and Infant School and all those who have raised and given funds, including ú3,850 raised from personal donations, Christmas card sales, a carol concert and sponsored walk; and congratulates the Friends of Cotteridge Park on this achievement and looks forward to local people being able to plant, grow, harvest and eat their own food from the new Cotteridge Orchard.
