Nottingham East Midlands Airport

EDM number 917 in 2004-05, proposed by Edward Garnier on 14/03/2005.

That this House regrets that Nottingham East Midlands Airport, which is sited entirely within Leicestershire, will be introducing as from May two new flight paths over Leicestershire following inadequate consultation with the people of Leicestershire; notes that these will allow a massive increase in night flights over South and East Leicestershire to the detriment of the lives and properties of the people living in these predominantly rural areas; further notes that they are unwelcome and unnecessary; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to designate the airport under the Civil Aviation Act 1982 to ensure that its activities are brought under his supervision and control.

This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
