Conduct Of The Hon. Member For Pontypridd

EDM number 1613 in 2005-06, proposed by Paul Flynn on 09/02/2006.

That this House is disappointed with the flippant dismissal by the Minister of State for the Middle East during Foreign and Commonwealth Office Oral Questions on 7th February of hon. Members' serious questions on Afghanistan; is appalled that spending £115 million of taxpayers' money on opium crop eradication has failed to reduce heroin production significantly but has led to the deaths of five British soldiers and an uncounted number of Afghans while the price of heroin on the streets of the UK continues to fall; believes that deployment of British soldiers in the Helmand province is potentially catastrophic; and urges the Minister to desist from schoolboy humour and to treat issues of life and death with the seriousness they deserve.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
