Rainton Bridge Business Park

EDM number 1649 in 2005-06, proposed by Fraser Kemp on 14/02/2006.

That this House welcomes the plans for the full development of Rainton Bridge South, a new business park being developed by the City of Sunderland Council to accommodate the next generation of office-based business activity in the city; notes that the 22 hectare site is located in Houghton-le-Spring; further notes that a high standard of landscaping and proximity to Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve will make this one of the region's most prestigious business locations; further notes that the business park will eventually attract investment totalling £100 million and generate more than 4,000 high quality jobs; and further notes that Rainton Bridge South is being equipped with the highest standard of broadband, building upon the city's existing state-of-the-art telecommunications facilities and prestigious World Teleport status.
