Proposed New European Institute Of Technology

EDM number 1655 in 2005-06, proposed by Keith Vaz on 15/02/2006.

That this House notes that European investment levels in research and development are significantly lower than in the United States and Japan; supports the European Commission's proposed European Institute of Technology with its role of providing further investment in European universities and research programmes; views this planned initiative as a significant step forward in achieving fulfilment of the Lisbon Agenda; and recommends the new body be located either within the United Kingdom or in one of the new Member States.
