Murder Of Police Officers In Northern Ireland

EDM number 2355 in 2005-06, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 13/06/2006.

That this House notes the recent 10th anniversary of the murder of Gardai Jerry McCabe by terrorists in the Irish Republic; acknowledges that 302 officers in Northern Ireland were murdered by terrorists; draws attention to the fact that many of the killers of the police officers in Northern Ireland used the early release scheme available to them under the terms of the Belfast Agreement and that no such release at present is being contemplated by the authorities in the Irish Republic; and utterly condemns the failure, even 10 years after the event, of prominent Sinn Fein elected parliamentarians in the Republic to show remorse or regret over these murders.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
