Catalan Referendum

EDM number 2388 in 2005-06, proposed by Hywel Williams on 19/06/2006.

That this House congratulates the people of Catalonia on their positive referendum vote to redefine the relationship between the Catalan nation and the Spanish government so as to secure stronger linguistic rights and a fairer share of tax revenues; urges them to press for further change towards eventual independence; and commends their example to the people of Wales and Scotland.
