Ninetieth Anniversary Of The Battle Of The Somme

EDM number 2489 in 2005-06, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 03/07/2006.

That this House salutes the bravery, courage and memory of all those who served at the Battle of the Somme; acknowledges the heroism of the thousands who died on 1st July 1916, including many from Ulster; and expresses the hope that the generations of the 21st century will not forget that sacrifice in the cause of the freedom which all enjoy 90 years later.
