Airbus UK

EDM number 2775 in 2005-06, proposed by Mark Tami on 17/10/2006.

That this House reiterates its commitment to, and support for, Airbus UK; notes that while Airbus is currently facing some challenges, Airbus UK continues to be one of the country's most knowledge-intensive companies, contributing over £1.3 billion per annum to the UK's net trade balance; commends and takes pride in Airbus UK's strong track record of delivery through advanced technology, high quality manufacturing and design processes, which benefit the UK as a whole and have reinforced the UK aerospace industry as world leader; further notes that Airbus UK's centres of excellence in Broughton and Filton, which are responsible for wing design and manufacture, are unmatched in the rest of the world and create high-quality jobs that enhance and anchor the broader, high-technology capability of the UK; and strongly supports and encourages continued future investment in Airbus UK.

This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
