That this House congratulates Royal Ascot at York on a successful week of racing, on making people from all corners of the United Kingdom and further afield feel welcome in North Yorkshire, on smoothly hosting an event that must be considered the showcase of horse racing in the UK and on creating an atmosphere of exuberance and exhilaration; acknowledges the welcome boost to the local economy that such a splendid Royal occasion brings; welcomes the best of racing and the equine industry in North Yorkshire being on display; and further welcomes the legendary hospitality of York Racecourse and Yorkshire business generally.
