Public Inquiry Into Gulf War Diseases

EDM number 89 in 2005-06, proposed by Mike Hancock on 17/05/2005.

That this House notes with grave concern that, since the end of the Gulf War in 1991, some 605 veterans have died, 200 committing suicide, and over 5,000 are now receiving war disablement pensions for illnesses and disabilities attributed to their service; and believes that the UK owes the Gulf veterans a debt of honour, and that it is long past the time that this was redeemed by the holding of a full and open public inquiry into the use of multi-vaccinations, particularly following the findings of the inquiry headed by Lord Lloyd, and that this debt of honour is also owed to future generations of service personnel and their families, in order to remove any doubts about the past and current procedures, and if need be, to learn from past mistakes.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
