Investment In UK Railways

EDM number 910 in 2005-06, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 01/11/2005.

That this House notes recent reports that the Spanish government, in co-operation with the private sector, plans to invest £160 billion over the next 15 years in upgrading the Spanish rail network, much of it in improving fast rail intercity links; and calls upon the Government to assess the continuing damage to the environment that single occupancy car commuting and short-haul flights cause, and to begin serious long-term investment in railways across the United Kingdom.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
