30th Anniversary Of Havering Talking Newspaper

EDM number 976 in 2005-06, proposed by Andrew Rosindell on 08/11/2005.

That this House congratulates the staff and volunteers of the Havering Talking Newspaper on their 30th anniversary; notes that this organisation produces a weekly cassette tape of local news and information which is sent to some 300 visually handicapped people throughout Romford, Hornchurch and Upminster; further notes that a monthly tape with magazine-type information is also produced and cassette machines are loaned free of charge to listeners who do not have their own equipment; applauds the Havering Talking Newspaper's vital role in serving the blind and partially-sighted community across the London Borough of Havering; and wishes them continued success for the future in providing this invaluable service to local people.
