Declaration Of Berlin

EDM number 1155 in 2006-07, proposed by Keith Vaz on 19/03/2007.

That this House believes that the public of the UK and Europe should have a right to be informed of the progress in the drafting of the Declaration of Berlin; notes that the intention of the German European Presidency to construct a declaration of European values, ambitions and achievements in a short and easy to understand text is a worthy one; fears that writing the declaration in secrecy goes against the key European values of transparency and openness; and calls on the Government to engage in a full consultation with the British public on the text once it is released.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
