Affordable Housing In Sutton

EDM number 1222 in 2006-07, proposed by Tom Brake on 27/03/2007.

That this House recognises the importance of providing affordable housing for those who need it; notes that in Sutton only 574 households were re-housed into council properties in 2005-06, leaving more than 3,400 applicants on the council's housing register in October 2006; commends the council for its track record of delivering exciting housing and regeneration projects such as the Roundshaw and Durand Close regeneration schemes; and calls upon the Government and the Mayor of London to work more closely with Sutton Council to boost the supply of affordable housing in the borough.
