Trail Recycled Art In The Landscape

EDM number 1294 in 2006-07, proposed by Richard Younger-Ross on 18/04/2007.

That this House congratulates the voluntary artist-led group TRAIL Recycled Art in the Landscape on its third successful year in raising public awareness of environmental issues through sculpture and fine art in partnership with ethical businesses, Teignmouth regeneration and local government; recognises the support which more than 50 artists, sculptors and photographers give to special needs groups and community groups in involving them in contributing to a six-week public art exhibition along six miles of the south Devon coast to bring green issues and renewable energy and waste recycling industries to the attention of over 100,000 visitors and residents by creating art out of recycled and sustainable materials such as vandalised bus shelter glass into sculptures, cans into comic figures and rubbish woven into colourful tapestries; and recognises TRAIL's efforts in encouraging individuals to contribute to the conservation of resources.
