READER'S DIGEST SURVEY

EDM number 1483 in 2006-07, proposed by Michael Jabez Foster on 15/05/2007.

That this House notes the Reader's Digest Survey on Best Places to Bring Up a Family and rejects entirely the suggestion that Reading, Waltham Forest, North East Lincolnshire, Hastings, Haringey, Kingston upon Hull, Rother, North Lincolnshire, Lewisham and Oxford are within the worst 10 areas of the country; notes that, despite the suggestion in media comment that this survey was based on the opinion of parents within such areas, the survey was based on a national poll with no evidence that any parents in those areas were asked anything; deprecates the fact that Reader's Digest has sought to extrapolate the outcomes it has from such faulty data; and congratulates all those involved in education and other public service in the areas in question for the quality of life that they help provide for families in the areas they serve.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
